En Avant wants to embody modernity in its vision, its projects and its struggles. The ambition of modernity for Haiti must be part of a project of rehabilitation or construction of infrastructures which must imperatively accompany a development process (roads, bridges, canals, ports, water, energy networks, transport, telecommunications, system of transformation of solid residues). In Haiti, no ambitious economic project is possible without considerable investment in certain key infrastructures which will stimulate overall demand and boost growth.
One of the main obstacles to the growth of our economy and job creation remains the weakness of our infrastructure. We will have to devote at least 9% of our GDP to spending on the construction, maintenance and improvement of our infrastructure. Functional infrastructure also provides essential services to the population (drinking water, electricity, mobility). The planning of a road network should not be done (or not only) based on the number of kilometers completed, but based on the benefits of opening up, the reduction in transport costs, the economic flows likely to be generated, etc.
